is an experimental, interdisciplinary artist working across performance, new media, and illustration. Their conceptual work explores the intersection of multimedia forms, such as the blending of technology with aerial arts. Peyton’s process is rooted in academic investigation, with a particular focus on re-examining and reinterpreting the Art Historical canon. Throughout their practice, recurring concepts include identity and introspection, gender theory and feminist thought, and social commentary. Figural motifs are at the center of their creative work, with pieces that feature the body as subject or medium. Whether they are designing characters or exploring bodily boundaries, they approach speculative and trans-human narratives through a visual language that emphasizes whimsicality. Their image-based work is similarly experimental with styles while demonstrating a consistently vibrant and plasticky quality of forms.
Peyton’s commission practice centers around illustration, graphic design, and character design. In their professional life, Peyton is experienced in business development, operations, and project management, with a demonstrated history of working in startups, higher education, creative industries, and nonprofit sectors. Peyton offers a creative yet analytical approach to problem-solving with demonstrated coursework in human-centered design, media ethics, visual communication, and design thinking with an emphasis on how people interact with systems, products, and narratives. They are currently pursuing a Masters in Digital Communications and Media Arts at DePaul University. Upon graduation, they hope to apply their rigorous research skills and curiosity for digital media techniques to fast-paced, creatively driven design projects in the tech space.
