Sabrina Fair Commission

The digital marketing assets created for the Hyde Park Community Players’ production of Sabrina Fair were designed to capture attention while also alluding to the feminine and queer themes of the director’s unique vision.

The Sabrina Fair digital designs were commissioned by the Director of a Chicago-based community theater troupe. The process reflected my collaborative approach to commission work, wherein the client provides details, receives 3 – 4 mock-ups, and provides feedback throughout the execution of the final design.
The client ordered 8 digital assets: an Instagram story, Instagram post, Facebook banner, and printable poster to advertise the auditions (4) and show run (4). The play was set in the 1950s and featured garden motifs that are reflected in the graphics. The Director's vision was to take a queer reinterpretation of the play, so we gravitated towards a delicate and romantic style. The vibrant palette, vintage aesthetic, and bold imagery contribute to an eye-catching design that encourages community participation.

Meditations on Unity
This short film explores the intersection of performance art and digital media by transforming dynamic aerial acrobatic movement into animated illustration. The work continues my perennial goal of exploring the harmony between physical and digital art forms, while examining my personal relationship with each medium. Meditations on Unity: Physical | Digital also weaves a meta-narrative about skill development, overcoming challenges, and achieving personal growth.

ROTOSCOPE ANIMATION, VIDEO, PERFORMANCE
In Meditations on Unity, I examine the connection between training for circus arts and learning to animate, focusing on the parallels between seemingly antithetical artistic mediums and their learning processes. The project expands on my background in digital illustration by translating a physical art form into a digital medium. To do this, I learned rotoscoping techniques to create a harmonious digital “performance” that exists as a choreographed sequence of cut and edited animations. This reflects the sense of imagination and limitless potential that effuses both art forms. The film aims to make viewer excited to learn new skills and attempt new projects, reflecting my own enthusiasm for rising to creative challenges.
